After School Program

Saint John School offers many after-school activities to help each student find and develop his/her own talents and skills. Since many students are involved in their home-town sports programs, our after school enrichment programs focus mainly on the Fine Arts, Academic Enrichment and Community Service.

Some of the programs offered in the past include: Art, Cooking, Drama, Spanish, French, Karate, Robotics, School Newspaper, and Rock Band. Additionally, for students in Grades 5 and Grade 6, a Community Service Group is offered.

The Community Service Group meets at least once a month and they are often executing projects throughout the month. Many of the projects led by the Community Service Group will involve the entire school. Service projects for this year include:

  • Halloween Candy Collection and Thanksgiving Food Drive for Project Care and Concern
  • Fleece blankets were made and donated to Project Care and Concern
  • Christmas Caroling at The Falls in Newton, a housing and rehab facility for seniors
  • Prepared a meal for Ronald McDonald House
  • Bake Sale for Catholic Relief Services in Haiti
  • New and used Clothing and Toy Drive for Cradles to Crayons
  • Work Day scheduled at Cradles to Crayons
  • Visited Perkins School for the Blind
